These strips are particularly effective at temperatures ranging from 1500 to 2100 degrees F, although they have relatively low elevated temperature strength. SS 446 hot rolled coils are notable for their oxidation resistance up to 2000 degrees F, sulfidation resistance, good thermal conductivity, and resistance to molten copper. While SS 446 sheets and plates demonstrate excellent resistance to cyclic oxidation, they possess lower strength at higher temperatures.
