The 310S Stainless Steel Plate is crafted from medium carbon austenitic stainless steel, designed to withstand high-temperature environments. These plates are particularly valued for their excellent high-temperature resistance and are commonly used in furnaces and heat treatment equipment. They can handle continuous exposure up to 1150°C and intermittent exposure up to 1035°C. The ASTM A240 UNS S31000 plates are often utilized in radiant tubes, cryogenic applications, combustion chambers, and burners, among other high-heat applications.
The SS 310S Plate is renowned for its versatility due to its distinctive properties. With approximately 25% chromium and 20% nickel, it offers exceptional resistance to both corrosion and oxidation. Available in both high and low carbon variants, the low carbon version is less susceptible to sensitization and embrittlement. AISI 310S Sheet plates are commonly utilized in environments with reducing sulfur and in moderately carburizing conditions, such as those found in the petrochemical sector. However, it is not suitable for applications involving frequent liquid quenching due to its susceptibility to thermal shock. DIN 1.4840 plates cannot be hardened through heat treatment but are instead strengthened by cold working, a less common technique.
