Stainless Steel 309 is a highly alloyed austenitic steel known for its excellent oxidation resistance, high-temperature strength, and creep resistance. With a lower nickel content, SS 309 Plates offer enhanced resistance to sulfur corrosion at elevated temperatures. SS 309 Sheets are both tough and ductile, making them easy to fabricate and machine. Stainless Steel UNS S30900 Plates are initially hot worked at 1177°C (2150°F), then reheated at 982°C (1800°F), and can be rapidly quenched. Post-work annealing is performed to restore their corrosion resistance properties.
