We boast the largest inventory of Dillidur 500 Plate, available in various sizes, grades, and cuts to meet the diverse needs of our clients. Our Dillidur 450 Abrasion Resistant Plates are equally exceptional, providing high-performance solutions for multiple industries.

The Dillidur 500 Plate we supply is widely accepted across various sectors, including fundamental industries such as sugar, paper, textile, and dairy, as well as more complex fields like oil & gas, petrochemical, chemical & fertilizers, power generation, and nuclear industries. In addition to Dillidur 500 Wear Resistant Plates, we also maintain a substantial stock of other essential materials, including Chrome Moly Steel Plates, Boiler Plates, HIC Plates, Pressure Vessel Steel Plates, Abrasion Resistant Steel Plates, Offshore & Structural Steel Plates, Quenched & Tempered Steel Plates, High Nickel Alloy Plates, Stainless Steel Plates, Duplex Stainless Steel Plates, Clad Plates, and 16MO3 Steel Plates.

As a structural steel, Dillidur excels in providing maximum resistance to wear with minimal material input and outstanding workability. It is specifically engineered for applications where conventional engineering steels would falter under the stress of direct contact with soil and rock. This unique capability makes Dillidur the ideal choice for earthmoving and mining machinery.

Dillidur 500 V is known for its impressive average hardness of 500 HBW in the delivery condition, achieved through a precise quenching process. This high level of hardness is crucial for customers requiring exceptional wear resistance while maintaining good workability and weldability.

ARK Stainless stands out as a leading provider of Dillidur 500 Plates and Dillidur 450 Abrasion Resistant Plates, ensuring you have access to high-quality materials designed to withstand the toughest conditions. Our commitment to quality and customer satisfaction makes us your go-to supplier, stockist, and exporter for all your wear resistant steel needs.

Cold forming

When working with DILLIDUR 500, cold forming through bending is a viable option, despite its high hardness and strength. However, it's essential to consider several factors to ensure a successful forming operation. As the yield strength of the steel increases, the forces required for forming also rise, even when the plate thickness remains constant. This increased yield strength also leads to greater spring-back, making careful handling crucial.

To minimize the risk of crack initiation, it's highly recommended to grind the flame-cut or sheared edges in the bending area. This preparation not only enhances the quality of the bend but also helps prevent cracking along the edges. Additionally, rounding the plate edges slightly on the outside of the bend that will experience tension stress during the bending process can further reduce the risk of fractures.

Safety should be a top priority throughout the cold forming process. Implementing necessary safety measures will protect personnel from potential hazards associated with possible fractures of the workpiece. Proper handling and preparation can make all the difference in achieving desired results with DILLIDUR 500 while ensuring a safe working environment.

Hot forming

DILLIDUR 500 is renowned for its exceptional hardness, achieved through accelerated cooling from the austenitizing temperature. When it comes to hot forming this remarkable wear-resistant steel, specific considerations must be addressed to maintain its integrity and performance.

To ensure minimal hardness loss during hot forming, it's essential to implement a renewed quenching treatment post-forming. However, it’s important to note that the hardness obtained through this process may differ from the hardness levels measured in the delivery condition. This discrepancy arises because the cooling conditions at the fabricator's facility typically do not match the optimal conditions present during the original plate production.

For effective hot forming, DILLIDUR 500 can safely be heated to approximately 200 °C (390 °F) without significant degradation of its hardness. This temperature threshold allows for effective manipulation while retaining the material's core properties. It’s crucial to monitor the heating process carefully, as exceeding recommended temperatures can lead to undesirable changes in hardness and performance characteristics.

Flame cutting and welding

For flame cutting, the following minimum temperatures should be observed: 60 °C (140 °F) for plate thicknesses up to 26 mm, 120 °C (248 °F) for plate thicknesses from 26 up to 70 mm and 150 °C (302 °F) for thicker plates.

For manual arc welding, basic coated rods with very low residual moisture should be used (and dried if necessary according to the manufacturer's instructions).
